Wildlife Watch Goes Green!

Junior members of Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust enjoyed an afternoon of fun filled activities on the theme of looking after your planet. Go Green! - the Wildlife Watch Annual Event - took place at Brocks Hill Country Park and Visitor Centre in Oadby on Saturday 24 September.

Over 200 Wildlife Watch members and their families attended Go Green!, where they took part in lots of fantastic activities including making mini-compost bins, powering a smoothie maker with a bike, worm charming, creating junk photo frames and yoghurt pot planters.

Rachel Ibbotson, Education Officer for Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust, said: “The children and their families always look forward to the Wildlife Watch Annual Event. It’s a great opportunity for our Wildlife Watch members to have fun whilst discovering more about wildlife and taking action for our environment.”

The Annual Event is also a chance for all Wildlife Watch members to get together and to celebrate a successful year of wildlife watching in our two counties.
