Former Trainee Reserve Officer with Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust Thomas Davison is embarking on the 193-mile Coast to Coast walk raising funds for the Trust – and you can help.
His walk starts on Saturday August 4 at St Bees Head and (hopefully) ends at Robin Hoods Bay on Saturday August 18. This will be around 13 days of walking with a one-day break in the middle.
Thomas said: “My connection with the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust goes back to 2009 when I graduated from University and discovered I was lacking the experience necessary to start a career in conservation. So I contacted the Trust and started volunteering at every Wednesday for about two years.
“When I was told about the training schemes the Trust offered, I applied and was given the opportunity to be a Trainee Reserve Officer at Rutland Water Nature Reserve. It was a great year working in a beautiful place with incredibly supportive and passionate people, from which I learned so much.
“As a way of showing appreciation for this opportunity, and to support its work, I want to help the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust by doing this walk from St Bees Head in Cumbria to Robin Hoods Bay in Yorkshire.
“Please sponsor me via my Just Giving page ‘Tom does the C2C for the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust’."
You can follow Thomas’ progress online as, throughout the walk, he will be updating his Facebook page and justgiving page with updates on his progress.
