A family-fun nature event at Abbey Park, Leicester will be held on Thursday May 31, hosted by Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust to launch its annual ‘30 Days Wild’ challenge.
Each year, the Trust encourages families to do something ‘wild’ each day in June to help them appreciate the wildlife and wild spaces around them.
The Abbey Park event will take place between 11am and 4pm, so come and see us and take part in some random acts of wildness.
The family-fun day will provide lots of creative ideas on how to explore and nurture an interest in the ‘wild’ outdoors. Throughout the day, participants will be invited to write their own wild ideas on a paper daisy, decorate it, then link them together to make a daisy chain to inspire others.
Additional exciting activities will include creating a piece of wild art to take home, taking part in a skulls quiz (with real skulls!), making masks, story-telling, a barefoot walkway and more besides.
It is free to sign up to 30 Days Wild and offers families an activity pack which includes a wallchart, stickers, activity ideas and some wild flower seeds.
