May Day Bird Song at Halstead Hill Farm - Morning
About the event
Learn how woodland and hedgerows have been planted and are being managed to create homes for resident birds and recently arrived migratory warblers. Discover the ecology of the warblers in winter and on migration before they returned to the farm for the summer with agri-ecologist Professor Chris Stoate and regenerative farmer Dr Miriam Stoate.
Enjoy sweeping views across High Leicestershire with time to learn and ask questions about farm and woodland birds, hedgerow and woodland management.
Chris, an agri-environmental researcher at the nearby Allerton Project for more than thirty years and Honorary Professor at Nottingham University, has also studied farmland ecology in southern Europe and West Africa.
Miriam grew up on a farm, researched land management in Thailand, Canada and England and enjoys welcoming groups to the farm.
