About the event

An undulating meadow, a line of Alders, a winding stream; Lea Meadows offers the perfect spot to see summer orchids and wildflowers.

The reserve is turned blue and purple under the sun by the Blue of Betony, Harebells and Heath Bedstraw that accompany the Pyramidal and Fragrant Orchids that bloom.

The waters of the stream provide a haven for the rare Brook Lamprey and a hunting ground for the Kingfisher.

Join our expert reserve officer for a stroll through this wildlife hotspot and celebrate among the festoons of flowers Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust’s triple anniversary. This event is open to all Members.
