Access is from Knighton Lane East near the railway bridge or from the path that runs under the railway line, between the schools and Cheviot Road/Neston Road.

Wild Play, Saving Saffron Brook at Washbrook Nature Reserve - Stream Dipping and natural rafts 
Wild Play sessions for children aged 5 - 12 years old.                             
Come and explore the wildlife that lives in the Washbrook Nature Reserve by stream dipping and make a natural raft to float on the brook.

These sessions are free as part of funded project - Leicester City Council's Saving the Saffron Brook.                              
BOOKING ESSENTIAL - Limited places are being offered to the general public to book.        
         
The sessions are aimed at child 5 - 12 years.
However, younger or older siblings can attend but must be booked. 
(Sibling tickets are limited due to event size.)

1 booked Adult per family (up to 3 children) must supervise throughout session.

Please Do Not Attend If Anyone in your Household has Symptoms or has Tested Positive for Covid 19.

All children must be supervised by booked adult - Max 3 children and 1 adult per family.

Dogs

No dogs permitted
Please NO dogs allowed at our children's events.

Mobility

Access to site is through pedestrian squeeze gates – if you need access for wheelchair or pushchair please contact us when booking.

The site has grassy and muddy paths. 
Some of the activities are located on grassy areas and in the brook.

Access to edge of brook via a narrow, uneven, muddy path.

There are no toilets on site.

NB We are also running sessions on the 12th July; 2nd and 9th August at Knighton Park.

What to bring

- Ensure children and adult are appropriately dressed for the weather as all activities outside.

- Wear/bring hat, sun cream, jumper, waterproof jacket.

- Children and adults must wear shoes/boots suitable for wearing in the Brook e.g. wellies or sandals with full straps - no flipflops.

- Please provide own drinks and snacks.

- Children must be supervised throughout the session by the booked adult.

- Please NO dogs allowed at our children's events.
