Can you spare some time to help us inspire children about nature and the environment?
Our Education Team is looking for committed and enthusiastic new volunteers to help with delivering our environmental education workshops and running Wildlife Watch groups and events. You don’t need to be an expert as training will be given but experience of working with children is desirable.
Volunteer Education Assistants: Support our Education Officers in delivering our environmental education workshops in Leicester/shire primary schools’ outdoor space and grounds for one – two days a week in school term time. Also help with children’s holiday activities at Burbage Common.
Wildlife Watch Leaders: Two of our Wildlife Watch groups are looking for Leaders to organise, plan and deliver Wildlife Watch activities in a fun and safe manner – one Sunday morning a month plus planning and preparation time. Typical activities are pond dipping, minibeast hunting, tree planting, bird box making, nature discovery walks and natural arts and crafts.
Wildlife Watch Event Volunteers: Help run our four seasonal Family Events and children’s activities at other events across Leicester/shire and Rutland including providing general information about the work of Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust.
