Forest School Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to assist with Forest School sessions for 3 to 13 year olds in Leicester.

Forest School helps children and young people to develop their confidence and self esteem through hands-on learning in the outdoors.

Activities can include
* Woodwork using tools (such as saws, billhooks, knives) – e.g. making musical instruments, jewellery, daggers, bows and arrows
* Shelter building
* Natural art
* Fire lighting

Time commitment and location
The sessions take place on weekdays in the morning or afternoon in Leicester. A minimum commitment of one half day a week is required.

Skills needed
This position suits someone who is enthusiastic, interested in the outdoors and enjoys working with children.

Volunteers must be 18 or over, supply two referees, undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check and take part in an informal interview.

On-the-job training will be provided and travel expenses will be reimbursed. Volunteers will need to be able to make their own way to the forest school sites, either by public transport or in their own car.
