Making friends through CBeebies

The Trust’s Wildlife Watch and Rutland Osprey Project teams joined CBeebies’ Mr Bloom and Friends Big Day Out at Leicester’s Abbey Park last weekend.

The event, which was part of a summertime tour of Britain, attracted thousands of young families over the three days, Friday 26, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 July. The BBC’s CBeebies is aimed at children up to six years old, who Mr Bloom calls ‘tiddlers’.

“We held minibeast games on a large scale, including Giant Ladybird Dominoes and Giant Build a Minibeast,” said Wildlife Watch Officer Rachel Ibbotson.

The Rutland Osprey Project ran their Osprey Magnetic Fishing Game while Anglian Water’s education team organised indoor birdwatching and virtual pond dipping.
