The Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust is the chosen partner charity to celebrate the first signs of spring at the University of Leicester Botanic Garden on Mothering Sunday 6th March from 10am to 4pm.
These popular annual Sundays highlight and celebrate the extensive displays of crocus tomasinnianus and other spring flowers and shrubs. Due to the mild winter many of the crocuses flowered early but there is still plenty to enjoy in these lovely gardens. Early daffodills are in flower, along with hellebores, cyclamen – and the snowdrops are still visble. In the greenhouses you can see alpines, cactii and succulents.
There will be refreshments (tea/coffee and cake) in Beaumont House, displays and plant sales.
Entry is by donation to the Trust as the partner charity.
