Happy Christmas to all our members and supporters from everyone at Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust
When you have munched your way through the festive fare and are bored with the gogglebox then why not get your muscles working and enjoy a walk at one of the Trust’s nature reserves?
The Christmas Family Coppice at Rutland Water Nature Reserve offers fresh air and exercise to work off those Christmas treats!
Come and join the Nature Reserve team on Monday 28th. Starting at 10am the task will involve the traditional woodland management technique of coppicing – cutting back small trees and shrubs to ground level which stimulates re-growth. We will finish at lunchtime with warming stew/soup and it’s free! (Please note, food is first come first served, but there will be hot drinks for all.)
No experience is required and tools will be available (but if you have your own bow-saw or loppers then please do bring them!).
No need to book, just come along on the day! Meet at the Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre, Egleton, LE15 8BT, at 10am.
