This year’s Birdfair at Rutland Water Nature Reserve, Egleton, is even more family friendly than ever. And, of course, Birdfair is simply the place to be to find out the latest in the world of wildlife. So, come and join in the fun at Rutland Water Nature Reserve, Egleton from Friday August 21 to Sunday August 23.
There is something for everyone to get excited about: indulge in some wildlife celeb spotting, choose from an amazing range of lectures and entertainment over six event sites; shop till you drop on equipment and art; or book your holidays at home and abroad.
Make a beeline to the Trust’s stand (OD2) for the latest news from the Trust and the Rutland Osprey Project – and children can enjoy making bee hotels and paper seed pots with the Trust’s junior wing Wildlife Watch.
Back by popular demand is the kids' art mural. Focus on Nature, the network for young nature conservatonists, will be asking young people to paint a picture or write their 'vision for nature'.
To round off the Birdfair weekend The Wildlife Trusts will present an amateur production of The Gruffalo based on the popular children’s book by Julia Donaldson. A host of Birdfair favourites will be guest stars including Nick Baker, Dominic Couzens, Mike Dilger and Bill Oddie as The Gruffalo himself. This should delight children and adults alike so make a date for Sunday 23rd with this performance at 3pm in the Events Marquee.
