Beginners Discovery Birdwalk
Join Conservation Officer Chris Hill at Cossington Meadows Nature Reserve on
Wednesday 4 June at 7pm.
If you can’t tell a dunnock from a sparrow or a teal from a tufted duck, this guided walk is for you.
Meadowlands Discovery Walk
Meet Conservation Officer Dr Andy Lear at Coombs Meadows Nature Reserve on Wednesday 18 June at 2pm.
Under Andy’s expert guidance explore this brand new Trust nature reserve. Don’t forget your camera – Coombs Meadows boast one of the finest views over the Vale of Belvoir!
Bats & Glow-Worms Discovery Walk
Conservation Officer Jenny Harris will guide this popular walk at Ketton and Ketton Quarry Nature Reserve on Friday 4 July, meeting at 9.15pm.
Search for different species of bats in the village then enjoy the fascinating light display by female glow-worms at the old quarry.
Woodland Discovery Walk
Hate Mondays? You’ll love this one! Join Reserves Officer Stan Smith at Cloud Wood on Monday 28 July at 2pm. Stan will be your guide through this lovely woodland nature reserve.
Discover Bird Ringing
For something completely different join members of the Charnwood Ringing Group at Charnwood Lodge National Nature Reserve on Saturday 27 September between 10am and 3pm. Stay for half an hour or all five – it is up to you! They expect to catch all the usual ‘tit’ species along with nuthatch, chaffinch, wren and blackbird. Find out about the process of ringing, how to age and sex a bird.
