Outreach Education Programme
Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust’s experienced staff and volunteers can bring the natural world to your school through our excellent Outreach Education Programme for KS1 & KS2.

The programme consists of a range of fun and interactive curriculum-linked workshops that have been designed specifically to be delivered in schools.
The workshops aim to broaden children’s knowledge and understanding of the natural world, and foster care and respect for our environment and the plants and animals that inhabit it.
Workshop topics include
- plant reproduction
- animal survival strategies
- life processes
- habitat exploration
- climate change
- renewable energy
They have been designed to meet specific national curriculum targets, particularly in Science, but many of them also link to Geography, English, Mathematics, PSHE and Art.

We have received some great feedback from teachers:
“Thank you so much for the workshop last week. The children really enjoyed it and it fitted so well with our curriculum. I have some gorgeous photos! It was a great morning.”
“The team leading the workshops were excellent. They worked well with children, supplied good resources and used age appropriate language.”
