We are looking for volunteers to assist us with the delivery of our Environmental Education workshops in Leicester/Leicestershire primary schools and holiday activities at Burbage Common.
We use schools’ outdoor space and grounds to explore and discover the natural world. The wildlife and environment themed workshops are fun and interactive, and are aimed at children aged 4 - 11.
We need help delivering the workshops one or two days a week from March – July and then September – November. Hours of work would be approx. 9 am – 3 pm, in primary schools across Leicester/Leicestershire and Rutland.
The holiday activities are for children aged 5 – 12 accompanied by parent/carers. We are running a range of fun outdoor nature activities once a week in the school holidays for 2 hour sessions. They are at different sites across the two counties - access to transport would be useful (travel expenses reimbursed).
This position suits someone who has an interest in environmental education, and enjoys working with children and young people.
On-the-job training will be provided and travel expenses will be reimbursed. Volunteers will need to be able to make their own way to the schools, either by public transport or in their own car.
Disclosure and Barring Service check will be carried out if required. All applicants must supply two referees and asked to an informal interview.
